Malaybalay City – Twenty one (21) modern computers complete with accessories were given to some public high schools under the coverage area of Bukidnon State University (BuKSU) during the iSchool launching in March, 2008. The computers are given by the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) under the Office of the President of the Philippines. The CICT based in Bukidnon State University has area coverage in Regions X, XI and XII with 32 pubic high schools. In her message, Antonette Torres, iSchools Project Manager challenged the teachers and the students of BNHS to maximize hands-on operations and share their knowledge to the community. “Ako naglaum nga sa dili pa unta kamo mo-gradwar sa highschool, makahibalo na gayud kamo mogamit sa computer,” (“I am hoping that before you graduate in high school all of you are already knowledgeable in computer operations”) Torres stresses.

In the first implementation of the program, of the 32 schools under the area of supervision of Bukidnon State University, nine (9) schools are located in Bukidnon province namely:
Kinawe National High School in Libona, Bukidnon
Impasug-ong National High School in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon,
Bukidnon State University Secondary School Laboratory in Malaybalay City,
Bukidnon National High School Casisang Annex in Malaybalay City
Guinoyuran National High School, and
Lurogan National High School in Valencia City, Bukidnon,
Sinangguyan National High School in Don Carlos, Bukidnon,
Kibawe National High School in Kibawe, Bukidnon, and
Quezon National High School in Quezon, Bukidnon.

Each of these schools is recipients of the 21 units of computers with LCD screen, an internet server, scanner and two air conditioning units.
Select public school teachers will be trained Computer Internet Literacy Course (CILC) starting March 15 until May 2008.
In an interview with Mark Lemuel L. Garcia (BukSU-ICT Coordinator, Project Coordinator for iSchools and eSkwela) he reveals that the evaluation started last year and Ubal-Ubal National High School in Bukidnon was the first recipient of the program package.
Qualification
“To qualify for the program, the school must be recommended by their congressman and has no existing computer laboratory,” Garcia says. “A complete set of the computer costs not more than P14, 000.00 the funding coming from the Office of the President of the Philippines.” The iSchools Project with its theme “Bridging the Digital Divide” aims at giving the students free access to the digital world or the internet.
