With few people saying that computers was expected to become central issue at home, the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) agreed to push through with the launching of iSchools. In March 2008, at least eleven (11) National High Schools under the area of coverage of CICT based in Bukidnon State University (BuKSU) were inaugurated.
Twenty one (21) modern computers with complete accessories, a server of the internet, video camera, a printer, air condition unit and a scanner were turned over to each iSchool beneficiary.
Immediately after the launching, selected teachers undergo Computer Internet Literacy Course (CILC), of which 21 iSchools are already done with the said training.
iSCHOOLS EXPERIENCES
“I was only expecting one unit of computer to be given to our school but the CICT gave us 21 and more,” says a teary-eyed school Principal of Balubal National High School.
Other iSchools beneficiary shared a different impression, saying computers might become a big issue at home for their children particularly about house hold help.
While most of the program recipients showed amazing reactions during the launching. Teachers and students alike were more than thrilled to start with the computer operations especially that computer access is very rare in their place.
